Princess Kate ‘hugely worried’ by Beatrice and Eugenie ‘forming alliance’ with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Princess Kate and Prince William are hugely worried about a potential alliance forming between Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and the Sussexes, according to a royal commentator.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have remained close to Prince Harry over the last few years.

Princess Eugenie was the first member of the Royal Family that the Duke of Sussex introduced to Meghan Markle.

However, both Beatrice and Eugenie chose not to attend Prince Harry’s Invictus Games event earlier this month.

The Duke of Sussex travelled to London on May 7 to give a reading at St Paul’s Cathedral to mark the 10th anniversary of the games.

Harry founded the sporting competition in 2014 when he was still a member of the Royal Family.

No working member of the Royal Family went to the Invictus event but Princess Diana’s brother Earl Spencer did attend.

Just weeks later the Princesses of York joined Prince William at a Buckingham Palace garden party.

Royal commentator Tom Quinn said Kate and William fear Beatrice and Eugenie have more in common with the Sussexes as non-working royals.

Quinn told the Mirror: “For William and Kate an alliance between Harry and Meghan and Beatrice and Eugenie is a huge worry.”

He added: “They sense that Beatrice and Eugenie feel that, as virtual outcasts themselves, they have far more in common with Harry and Megan than with any other part of the family.

“The situation is made worse by the fact that the senior royals’ main asset – Kate herself – is effectively out of action while she continues her treatment for cancer.”

Princess Eugenie issued a statement highlighting the importance of “supporting family” after she attended a garden party hosted by Prince William.

Last week, Princess Eugenie issued a statement highlighting the importance of “supporting family” after she attended a garden party hosted by Prince William.

The Prince of Wales was joined by non-working members of the Royal Family including Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, Zara Tindall and Mike Tindall.

Crowds waited in the Buckingham Palace gardens under a sea of umbrellas for the Royal Family members to arrive ahead of the party.

The Princess of York said: “Come rain or shine, I was delighted to support my family yesterday to meet some special individuals at the Buckingham Palace Garden Party who have gone above and beyond to support their local communities and the country.”
